THE government has raised the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia by four sen per litre, effective from January 29 to February 4, following a recent rise in global oil prices.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said the new retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia has been set at RM2.92 per litre for the one-week period.
The adjustment was made under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism and reflects movements in the international oil market.
MOF said the government would continue to review and adjust diesel prices in line with global oil price trends, while stressing that price stability remains its foremost priority.
Under the latest pricing structure, RON97 petrol remains unchanged at RM3.10 per litre, while non-subsidised RON95 petrol stays at RM2.54 per litre. Subsidised RON95 petrol under the BUDI95 programme continues to be priced at RM1.99 per litre.
Diesel prices in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan are also unchanged at RM2.15 per litre.
The government said it will continue to closely monitor developments in global oil markets and take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare of the people remains protected. - January 28, 2026
