THE Malaysia Economic Forum 2026 (FEM 2026) is set to anchor national economic discourse as Malaysia prepares to roll out the 13th Malaysia Plan, positioning the forum as a central platform for aligning policy, investment and structural reform priorities in a rapidly shifting global economy.
Now in its second year, the forum expands on the momentum of its 2025 debut with deeper, more targeted discussions aimed at moving beyond dialogue towards tangible policy direction and implementation.
The expanded scale reflects growing demand for coordinated responses to economic uncertainty, competitiveness pressures and long-term sustainability challenges.
Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, at a media briefing on Thursday, said the forum, themed “Accelerating Growth, Advancing Malaysia”, will serve as a strategic space to examine national economic priorities under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) for 2026 to 2030, with a strong focus on inclusive growth, structural transformation, productivity and long-term resilience.
Organised by the Ministry of Economy, FEM 2026 is supported by Maybank and Bursa Malaysia as principal strategic partners, HSBC as a strategic partner, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank together with MBSB Group as supporting partners.
The programme will feature plenary sessions, high-level dialogues and cross-sector panel discussions involving policymakers, industry leaders, academics and civil society representatives.
The forum is intended to function as a national convergence point for public and private sector perspectives, supporting the implementation of the Madani Economy agenda while reinforcing development priorities outlined in the 13th Malaysia Plan.
Organisers said the emphasis will be on practical, solution-oriented exchanges that can inform policy execution and investment decision-making.
A key objective of FEM 2026 is to strengthen investor confidence by providing clarity on Malaysia’s economic direction and reinforcing the country’s position as a competitive and credible regional economic hub.
The forum also seeks to deepen collaboration across sectors to ensure growth outcomes are inclusive and sustainable.
The theme “Accelerating Growth, Advancing Malaysia” underscores the government’s commitment to driving resilient and broad-based economic expansion.
