DATUK Seri Anwar Ibrahim wants strict enforcement action to be taken against foreign visitors who misuse social visit passes to work in the country.

Unity Government spokesman, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, said the Cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister today was given the latest briefing on enforcement actions and arrests in operations involving the misuse of social visit passes.

He said that, based on information shared by Home Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail at the meeting, a total of 54,791 individuals were inspected and action was taken in relation to the offences involved.

"Although their entry (foreign visitors) was for social reasons, whether to visit, to travel, but in the end, there was an element of employment that was detected.

"Of the 54,791, action was taken against 51,100 people in 2025 while for January 2026, 3,691," he said.

He said this at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, today. – January 30, 2026
