A THREE-STOREY bungalow in one of Kuala Lumpur’s most exclusive gated neighbourhoods has been raided by authorities and uncovered as an alleged high-end prostitution den catering primarily to Chinese clients, in an operation that led to the arrest of 40 foreign nationals.

The premises, located along Persiaran Ritchie in Desa Pahlawan, was stormed in a special operation at 12.27am.

Immigration Department Deputy Director-General (Operations) Datuk Lokman Effendi Ramli said the alleged mastermind, a Chinese national, was among those detained.

“This three-storey bungalow premises is believed to have been used to carry out immoral activities and was fitted with rooms modified for that purpose.

“The premises are believed to have been operated by a Chinese national and are located in a luxury residential area to avoid detection by the authorities,” he said.

Investigators believe the syndicate operated discreetly from the upmarket residential enclave to evade detection. Rooms within the property had allegedly been modified to facilitate illicit activities.

According to Lokman Effendi, the group marketed its services online through a Chinese national described as a “salesman”, targeting only foreign nationals and local Chinese clients.

“The syndicate targeted customers among foreign nationals and local Chinese only.

“The rates charged were RM1,000 for 45 minutes and RM3,500 for 90 minutes. The syndicate is believed to have been operating for the past six months,” he said.

Those detained comprised 12 Chinese men and 19 Chinese women, as well as five Vietnamese women, two Myanmar women and two Japanese women, aged between 21 and 43.

Authorities said firm enforcement action would continue.

“JIM will continue to take firm action to eradicate any activities that violate the law to ensure the stability and prosperity of Malaysia,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 56(1)(d) and Section 6(3) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, as well as Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963. - February 13, 2026
