POLICE are looking for a man alleged to have kicked a young girl during an incident at a well-known Thai restaurant in Telipot, Kota Bharu.

Kota Bharu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azmir Damiri, said police received a report from a member of the public at about 10:24 pm last night regarding a video of the incident that had gone viral on social media.

According to him, the video shows a man acting aggressively by kicking a young girl, believed to be his daughter, at the premises.

“The video was uploaded by the restaurant owner via their Facebook account before going viral on social media.

“Following the report, the police have opened an investigation paper under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001,” he said.

Those with information concerning the incident are urged to contact Inspector Nur Faraheen Azman Lim at 011-11136722 to assist with the investigation. – September 13, 2026
