SIX people, among them a child, had a narrow escape after a tree toppled onto two passing vehicles along Jalan Seremban-Tampin near Restoran Lemak Salai on Tuesday evening.

The incident involved a multi-purpose vehicle, a Nissan Grand Livina carrying five family members aged between 12 and 47, and a Proton Saga driven by a 38-year-old man.

The Operations Control Centre of the Negeri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department said it received an emergency call at 8.48pm. A fire engine from the Tampin Fire and Rescue Station, led by Operations Commander Senior Fire Officer I Yazid Yaacob, arrived at the scene about four minutes later.

"Upon arrival, it was found that a fallen tree had crushed two vehicles that were passing through the area.

“All victims managed to exit the vehicles on their own before the fire brigade arrived and were confirmed safe without any injuries,” he said.

The department said the Nissan Grand Livina was carrying five individuals, while the Proton Saga was occupied solely by its driver. - February 18, 2026
