THE Immigration Department has denied any association with a viral poster titled ‘New: Malaysia Passport & MyKad 2026’, which has been circulating on social media and cites the department’s official website as a reference.

In a statement issued last night, the department said it viewed the dissemination of the poster seriously and stressed that it was not issued by the agency.

“It is hereby informed that the poster was not issued by the Immigration Department and that the content and information conveyed are not authentic and do not represent any official announcement by the department,” the statement said.

The department urged the public not to spread unverified information and to rely solely on its official communication channels for accurate and legitimate updates regarding the Malaysian passport or any policy announcements.

“Any official developments will be announced through the official website and social media platforms of the Immigration Department,” it said. - February 26, 2026
