THE Prime Minister has conveyed its sympathy and support to Kuwait and Oman as both nations confront challenges to their sovereignty, security and national infrastructure amid escalating tensions in West Asia.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the message was delivered during separate telephone conversations with Kuwait’s Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi.

According to Anwar, the discussions also covered the latest developments in the Middle East following the conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran.

"We also exchanged views on the current developments in the Middle East following the conflict involving Israel, the United States (US) and Iran.

"During the opportunity, I also conveyed my appreciation for the commitment of both governments in ensuring the safety and welfare of Malaysian citizens residing there," he said in a Facebook post on Monday night.

Anwar added that Malaysia also commended Oman’s efforts to facilitate dialogue between Washington and Tehran.

"Malaysia also commends Oman’s noble efforts in working hard to make the mediation process between the US Government and Iran a success.

"We agreed that all parties must prioritise a peaceful approach and exercise restraint from actions that could undermine regional stability.

"May the blessings of Ramadan strengthen the unity of the ummah and open the path towards more enduring peace and stability," he said. - March 10, 2026
