HEAD of Bersatu’s women’s wing Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin has been suspended from the party for two election terms for allegedly violating the party constitution and code of conduct, the lawmaker confirmed on social media today.

Sharing the suspension notice on her Instagram account, the Masjid Tanah Member of Parliament said she was sanctioned under Clause 9.1.4 of the party constitution and the Members’ Code of Ethics and Conduct.

“Finally, I have been suspended. That is all the Disciplinary Board is capable of. For me, Alhamdulillah. #Reset all the way,” Mas Ermieyati wrote in her post.

Earlier, Bersatu vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee was also suspended for two election terms, effective immediately.

Both leaders reportedly attended a gathering in support of Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin on 14 February, one day after the former deputy president was dismissed.

Hamzah had launched the “Reset” initiative to advocate principles he described as necessary for correction, improvement, and collective strengthening of the party and the nation.

According to the suspension letters, Mas Ermieyati and Kiandee were stripped of all party positions and barred from making statements on behalf of BERSATU for the duration of their suspension. They retain the right to appeal to the party’s appeals board within 14 days.

Both leaders had previously received show-cause letters from the party’s Disciplinary Board regarding several alleged violations. - March 10, 2026
