THE Election Commission (EC) has denied information circulating on social media claiming that the 16th General Election (GE16) will be held on October 24, 2026.

The EC, in a statement, stated that the poster allegedly showing nomination day on October 10, 2026 and polling day on October 24, 2026, is fake.

"The news is fake. Avoid spreading misleading content, including false context, ambiguous sources and manipulated or fabricated images," read the statement.

The poster also stated that the EC's voters list for GE16 has been released, and the public is asked to wait for the dissolution of parliament and state legislative assemblies (DUNs) in Malaysia.
