POLICE have concluded the investigation into a vehicle arson and criminal intimidation case in Taman Kinrara, Puchong, with the arrest of 12 suspects.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the arrests were made between 12 March and yesterday in a joint operation involving federal and state crime investigation departments.

Those detained comprised 11 men and one woman, all aged between 30 and 40.

“Of the 12 individuals arrested, seven suspects have been identified as having a direct link to the incident and are still remanded,” Shazeli said at a press conference as reported by Bernama.

The remaining five, including the woman who is the wife of a suspect, have been released on police bail.

Police also seized three cars, two motorcycles, 14 mobile phones, a helmet, and clothing believed used during the incident.

Background checks revealed five of the seven remanded suspects have prior criminal records.

Urine screenings conducted on all detainees, however, returned negative for drugs.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 427, Section 506, and Section 435 of the Penal Code.

Shazeli said initial investigations suggest the incident stemmed from personal dissatisfaction, leading to the acts of mischief and criminal intimidation.

He confirmed police have arrested the individual believed to be the mastermind.

Shazeli also confirmed that investigations so far have found no element of gangsterism or secret society involvement.

He advised the public against speculation or provocation on social media that could threaten public peace while the investigation is being finalised. – March 16, 2026
