A MAN armed with a sharp object was shot dead while trying to rob a jewellery shop in Petaling Jaya this morning.
The incident took place at 11 am, when the suspect, believed to be riding a motorcycle, reportedly came to the shop, which had just opened and had no customers.
During the incident, the suspect was believed to have struggled with a security guard before another security guard, who realised his friend was injured, fired two shots at the suspect.
The seriously injured suspect was then rushed to the hospital before being confirmed dead a short time ago.
No loss of jewellery was recorded in the incident.
As of now, the police are still conducting investigations at the scene. – March 16, 2026
