The latest case comes after gold shops in Genting Highlands, Pahang, and Klang, Selangor, were targeted on Monday and yesterday respectively.

The incidents have sparked concern among the public, particularly after videos of the robberies surfaced on social media.

Many users said they were alarmed that the robberies were carried out in broad daylight.

A Threads user, stymnisya, said the latest robbery was believed to have taken place at a gold shop in Taman Tas.

“Apparently, there has been a case at a gold shop in Taman Tas, Kuantan. God, this is scary. There’s nothing members of the public can do because the robbers were armed with machetes. This is frightening,” the user wrote.

Another user, nrainnanajihah_, said the latest incident had added to concerns over safety in Kuantan.

“Kuantan is really scary now. You’re doing this in broad daylight! I hope you get caught soon!” the user said.

User s.nrfhina, meanwhile, said she was now worried about visiting Taman Tas, where she often shops.

“It’s scary. I’m already afraid to go to Taman Tas, especially since I often shop there. Seriously, they had the nerve to do this in broad daylight. I hope everything goes smoothly for the shop owner,” she said.
