PARTI Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has strongly denied allegations that the party was establishing close ties with Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Muhyiddin said the allegations were baseless and malicious, intended to undermine harmony within Bersatu and among the component parties in Perikatan Nasional (PN).

He stressed that the matter had never been discussed at any level of the party, including in the Supreme Leadership Council, which determines the party's policies and direction.

"Bersatu has clear principles of struggle in defending religion, race and country as well as defending the welfare of the people.

Muhyiddin explained that, on that principle, Bersatu founded PN with PAS and was later joined by Gerakan and the Malaysian Indian People's Party (MIPP).

He described PN as the best platform for Bersatu to realise its struggle, and the party has never wavered from its stance.

"Bersatu's focus at the moment is to strengthen the party and PN in facing the 16th General Election (GE16)," he added. – March 16, 2026
