THE Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) in collaboration with international agencies, successfully seized a total of 176,700 kilograms (kg) of various types of drugs with an estimated value of RM 1.4 billion over the past few years.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) Director, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, said that JSJN is collaborating with various international agencies in an effort to help curb drug smuggling activities.

These include the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Australian Federal Police (AFP), National Narcotic Control Commission, China (NNCC), Narcotic Bureau, Hong Kong (NB) and Office of Narcotic Control Board (ONCB), Thailand Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB), Thailand and Royal Thai Police (RTP), Thailand.

According to him, a total of 34 operations were successfully carried out by JSJN in collaboration with various agencies, leading to the seizure of a total of 176,700 kg of various types of drugs worth RM 1.4 billion.

“Collaboration with ONCB, NSB and RTP resulted in the seizure of 1263.14 kg of Methamphetamine, heroin base (139.5 kg), Ketamine (42.2 kg), MDMA (2.37 kg), Cannabis (94.8 kg), Cannabis Flowers (2.6 kg) and Erimin 5 (810 grams).

“The joint seizure with AFP involved 105 kg of Methamphetamine while with NB Hong Kong, 8.7 kg of heroin and 7.41 kg of heroin base.

“In addition, the collaboration with DEA ​​also resulted in the seizure of 46.8 kg of heroin and 4.5 kg of cocaine,” he told Harian Metro.

He said that success was also achieved with the NNCC involving the seizure of 1036.7 kg of Fentanyl Citrate, ketamine (5.03 kg), ecstasy powder (5.8 grams), liquid MDMA (100 grams), 10 ecstasy pills and 10 erimin 5 pills.

“Collaboration with the South Korean NIS resulted in the seizure of 9,420 kg of cocaine,” he said. – March 23, 2026
