PANDAN MP Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli claimed that there was an attempt to sneak in propaganda placards into the rally scheduled to take place this evening.
In a statement on his Facebook page today, he said that the placards were believed to be intended to portray that the rally had a personal agenda for him to become Prime Minister.
He described the attempt as ‘creative’, but sarcastically urged those responsible to ‘use more recent pictures’ of him.
“They say that this demo is for my personal purposes, and that I want to become PM. “These people are creative. Next time, find a more recent and thinner picture of me,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rafizi also asked participants of the rally to advise those carrying propaganda placards to remove them properly.
“This evening, if you see propaganda placards, please advise them to take them down properly,” he said.
He stressed that the gathering had no political agenda and was not for the benefit of any individual or party.
“It was just the expression of a small number of people who want a better Malaysia,” he said.
This afternoon at 3 pm, “Tangkap Azam Baki” rally participants are expected to gather and march from the shopping mall Sogo to Dataran Merdeka.
The rally’s three demands are for the setting up of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to probe allegations of a “corporate mafia” in the country’s enforcement agencies, to have Azam arrested, and a total reform of the MACC.
They also want to guarantee freedom of speech to civil society organisations, social activists, academics and the public who criticise corruption and misconduct. – April 25, 2026
