THE ongoing political and administrative crisis in Negeri Sembilan has not affected relations within Malaysia’s federal government, according to Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

The Communications Minister, who also serves as spokesperson for the Unity Government, said the developments—primarily involving Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional at the state level—remain localised and do not interfere with federal governance.

“At this time, the situation does not affect the federal government. This is something that may be unique to Negeri Sembilan, but at the level of the unity government, we are certainly very attentive to what is happening.

“…and at the leadership level, we know that PH Negeri Sembilan made an announcement yesterday, and at the central level, I believe the leadership will determine the direction,” he told reporters after officiating the Asia Pacific Online Safety Dialogue 2026 today.

Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching was also present at the event. - April 28, 2026
