A senior police officer serving as the head of logistics for the Pahang police contingent was killed after his motorcycle veered into the path of an oncoming lorry on the Batang Kali–Genting Highlands road, while the lorry driver escaped with minor injuries

A SENIOR police officer attached to the Pahang police contingent headquarters was killed in a road accident after his motorcycle collided with a lorry along Jalan Batang Kali-Genting in Hulu Selangor.

The victim, Superintendent Yuslimezam Hashim, 51, who served as Head of the Logistics Department at the Pahang Contingent Police Headquarters, died at the scene following the crash at approximately 4.45pm on Tuesday.

Hulu Selangor Deputy District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said preliminary investigations indicated that the officer had been travelling alone from Alor Star, Kedah, towards the Pahang police headquarters when the accident occurred.

According to investigators, the fatal collision happened as the motorcycle negotiated a left-hand bend before apparently losing control and crossing into the opposite carriageway.

"Initial investigations found that the motorcyclist was travelling alone from Alor Star, Kedah towards the Pahang Contingent Police Headquarters.

"Upon reaching the location, the victim, who was taking a left-hand bend, is believed to have lost control and entered the opposite lane before colliding with a lorry," he said when contacted today.

Mohd Asri said the impact of the collision left the motorcyclist with severe head injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver sustained minor injuries to the face and chest.

"The body was taken to the Forensic Department of Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

"The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said.

Police have appealed to members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or possess relevant information to contact the investigating officer via 03-6064 1222 or report to the nearest police station. - June 3, 2026
