NIK Alif Aiman's father, Ir Ariffahmi Ab Rahman, has insisted that he believes his son is telling the truth and is prepared to take the case to court.
He wants to demand justice after the grandson of former Kelantan Menteri Besar, the late Tan Sri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, claimed to have been slapped by a senator.
According to him, his confidence in his son has never been divided because Nik Alif Aiman is an authoritative student leader and never lies, especially in serious matters.
"I believe my son. He has spoken the truth, and I am confident in his integrity as a student leader," he said in a statement on Thursday.
Ariffahmi also explained that the relatively long period of time before the police report was made was not due to political factors or related to the Johor by-election (PRK) as claimed by some parties.
On the other hand, he said, their families allowed the university to resolve the issue amicably without involving a police report.
However, he claimed that the university, from the beginning, appeared to be in favour of the individuals who were allegedly involved and tried to conclude it without solid evidence.
According to him, the action caused the issue to become bigger because the university failed to act as a fair mediator in resolving the dispute.
"The university should be responsible as the organiser of the program at Janda Baik to protect the dignity and safety of the student leaders involved," he said.
He said the family is now ready to take the case to court and will seek the services of a good lawyer to reveal all the alleged facts that are not yet known to the public.
"We are confident that the truth will eventually emerge and will continue to fight for it through the right channels," he said.
It was earlier reported that Nik Abdul Aziz’s grandson claimed to have been slapped by a senator while attending an official program at a university in Janda Baik, Pahang, on May 20.
Nik Alif Aiman said the incident allegedly happened at about 6 pm after the end of the lecture session in conjunction with the Nation Empowerment Program 2.0 held at the Ummah Empowerment Training Institute (ILMU).
According to him, the guest speaker during the program was a senator who was also introduced as a member of the Board of Directors of a university. – June 4, 2026
