The 49-year-old female trekker who had been missing since 23 May on Gunung Batu Putih in Tapah has been found safe today - June 6, 2026

A FEMALE hiker, Jaslinda Saludin, 49, who was reported missing since 23 May while trekking at Gunung Batu Putih, has been found safe today.

She was found at Kampung Lubuk Gaharu, near Pos Musoh, after members of the local Orang Asli community alerted the authorities after spotting her in the area.

The incident took place within the district of Tapah in Perak.

Perak police chief Datuk Alwi Zainal Abidin confirmed the discovery when contacted by Sinar Harian, saying that an official media statement on the case would be issued in due course.

“An official media statement regarding the incident will be issued shortly,” he said.

Earlier, images believed to show Jaslinda at a community house in the area had gone viral on social media, fuelling public attention over her disappearance and subsequent whereabouts. - June 6, 2026
