PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged all parties to give space to the family of a student who died in an incident at a school in Negeri Sembilan and to avoid spreading unverified information about it.

He said the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM) has mobilised the necessary assistance and counselling support for the family and school staff who were affected by the incident.

“I request all parties to give space to the family and avoid spreading information whose validity has not been confirmed while the police conduct investigations,” he said in a post on Threads.

At the same time, Anwar and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, expressed their condolences to the victim's family following the passing of their daughter.

Anwar also prayed that the family would be blessed with the strength to face the ordeal.

“Azizah and I are saddened to receive the news of the passing of a child at a school in Negeri Sembilan today. Condolences to the family who are facing this very difficult ordeal.

“Al-Fatihah,” he wrote.

Earlier, a Form Four female student died after allegedly falling from a building block at a secondary school in Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan, on Friday.

Police received information about the incident at 10.48 am, and further investigations are underway, including obtaining statements from witnesses and the post-mortem report. – June 20, 2026
