Wawasan unveils leadership lineup featuring prominent defected parliamentarians and veterans
Parti Wawasan Negara announced its comprehensive central leadership structure following its official launch by the RESET Movement - June 21, 2026

THE newly formed Parti Wawasan Negara has officially unveiled its full central leadership lineup, bringing together an influential coalition of veteran politicians, former cabinet ministers, sitting Members of Parliament, and corporate professionals.

According to the official appointments released by the party, the founder of the RESET Movement, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, will take the helm as President. He is supported by veteran political heavyweight and former minister Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim, who assumes the role of Chairman.

The Deputy President post goes to the former Bersatu Johor Associate Chief, Datuk Tan Lek Khang, while the five Vice-President slots represent a strategic mix of seasoned stalwarts and younger political operatives.

Leading the vice-presidential bench is former Melaka Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik, alongside Tasek Gelugor Member of Parliament Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan and former MCA Youth Secretary-General Datuk Leong Kim Soon.

The final two vice-presidential portfolios have been allocated to Datuk Mohd Omar Mustapha and Datuk Huan Cheng Guan.

In a highly strategic move for the party's operational core, two prominent lawmakers who were previously expelled from Bersatu have been handed critical vanguard roles.

Indera Mahkota Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah has been designated as the Secretary-General, while Machang Member of Parliament Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad takes charge of communications as the Information Chief.

Other key administrative appointments include Mohd Badrul Ezan Mohd Yusof as Executive Secretary and Datuk Arifin Tobias as Treasurer-General.

The party also confirmed the appointment of twenty-five Central Committee members, pulling notably from parliamentary and academic ranks.

Among those selected are Gerik Member of Parliament Fathul Huzair Ayob, Padang Rengas Member of Parliament Captain Azahari Hasan, and the former Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi MARA, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Ibrahim Shah Abu Shah.

The inception of the party marks the official political transition of the RESET Movement, which Hamzah originally announced on June 13 during the RESET Convention held in Tanah Merah, Kelantan.

Accompanying the leadership announcement, the party provided its official registration credentials under the Registry of Societies Malaysia, carrying the registration number PPM-004-07-08062009.

The complete list of the twenty-five Central Committee members consists of Dzowahir Ab Ghani, Datuk Muhamed Farid Mohamed Zawawi, Fathul Huzair Ayob, Captain Azahari Hasan, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Ibrahim Shah Abu Shah, Datuk Suhaimi Mohd Ghazali, Datuk Zulkifli Bujang, Datuk Simon Suresh V Varunamegam, Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq, Datuk Asmawi Harun, Datuk Abdul Aziz Ismail, Dayang Saniah Awang Hamid, Dr Richard Ng, Ir Ts Mohd Khoushaini Mohd Naim, Tan Tee Beng, Tun Fiqa Mohammad, Phang Horng Woie, Syed Hassan Syed Ali, Yunus Nordin, Muhammad Fadhli bin Ismail, Wong Chan Giap, Hussien Ridzuan Ibrahim Basri, Bibi Sunita Sakandar Khan, Huan Xin Yun, and Mohd Hamdan Mohd Sharif. - June 21, 2026
