A DENTAL nurse working in Singapore claims to be living in fear after being threatened, beaten and wanted to be made a 'sex slave' by her ex-boyfriend, who could not accept the woman's decision to end their relationship.

To make matters worse, the 29-year-old woman, who only wanted to be known as Nini, claimed that her ex-boyfriend also threatened to spread photos and videos of their intimate relationship if she refused to get back into a relationship.

"Our relationship, which lasted about five months, initially went smoothly before I decided to break up after finding out that the 27-year-old man was allegedly taking drugs and did not have a permanent job.

"After I told him I wanted to break up, he started to become aggressive. I was beaten, threatened to be killed, and he claimed he was a member of a secret society and would bring his friends to harass me,” she said at a press conference at the TLK Team Complaints Centre in Kota Puteri, Johor, today.

According to her, the pressure she faced increased when her ex-boyfriend’s family also intervened and urged them to get back together.

She claimed that the man’s mother also threatened to spread their intimate photos and videos, in addition to contacting the victim’s parents via WhatsApp before some of the content was allegedly uploaded to TikTok.

She said that during that period she received threats between seven and 10 times to get back in touch, otherwise the intimate photos and videos would continue to be spread.

Following that, Nini made her first police report at the Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Headquarters (IPD) on July 9.

According to her, at that time her ex-boyfriend came to the police station and deleted the content from her cellphone, causing her to withdraw the report because she thought the issue was resolved.

However, she claimed that the threats were repeated when the man asked her to return to being his girlfriend or to fulfil his wishes to have sex to prevent their intimate photos and videos from being circulated.

According to her, after the intimate content was allegedly sent to her mother, family members and uncle, she again lodged a police report at the Johor Bahru Selatan IPD on July 19.

She claimed that she still received threats last Monday and hoped that the authorities would take immediate action because she was worried about her and her family’s safety.

Meanwhile, the Head of the TLK Team Complaints Bureau, Lim Thow Siang, hoped that the police would conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations.

According to him, if there is sufficient evidence and complete investigation papers, appropriate prosecution action can be taken in accordance with the provisions of the law. – August 5, 2026
