BERSATU Information Chief, Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, reminded PAS about the history of the establishment of Perikatan Nasional (PN), which he claimed was ​​Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s idea.

The statement followed the spat between PAS and Bersatu regarding their respective positions in PN, including the issue of using the coalition's logo in the upcoming Johor and Negeri Sembilan State Elections (PRN).

According to Tun Faisal, several facts regarding the establishment of PN cannot be denied by any PAS leader because it involves a process that Bersatu directly implemented since the coalition was formed.

According to him, the idea of ​​establishing PN was originally from Muhyiddin, the Bersatu President, and not from PAS, as some parties are trying to portray.

"Until today, no PAS leader can deny the fact that the idea to establish Perikatan Nasional came from Tan Sri Muhyiddin.

"The PN constitution was also drafted and written by Bersatu, starting from scratch; Bersatu also produced the coalition logo through the party president's office," he said in a statement on Facebook.

Tun Faisal said Bersatu was also responsible for managing the entire PN registration process until the coalition was officially registered.

He said the party shouldered most of PN's operational and management affairs since its inception in 2020 until the 15th General Election (GE15).

"Bersatu manages almost all aspects related to the establishment and registration of PN.

"Other parties were only invited to attend the meeting after most of the documents and registration matters of PN were almost completed," he said.

Earlier, the media reported that PN would hold an emergency meeting to discuss the membership of the coalition party tomorrow night.

Among the issues expected to be presented in the meeting is the use of the coalition's name.

PN Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, was quoted as saying that any activity or meeting using the coalition's name cannot be carried out without the permission of its chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar. – June 21, 2026
