NEGERI Sembilan police have denied allegations that members of the security forces were bribed and instructed to reveal ballot paper serial numbers as proof of support for Pakatan Harapan (PH) during the state election.
Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad described the claim by political activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard, as an allegation without basis, but said authorities would take action if any wrongdoing was found.
“We deny the allegation. However, if there is any misconduct or possibility that such an incident occurred, further action will be taken.
“After the statement was made by him, we conducted monitoring, but until now no police report has been received regarding the issue raised,” he said during a press conference after visiting the early voting centre at the Nilai District Police Headquarters on Tuesday.
Alzafny was responding to claims that uniformed personnel, including police officers, were allegedly given cash payments ranging from RM300 to RM500 depending on rank, and pressured to provide ballot paper serial numbers as evidence that they had voted for PH.
He assured that police would continue to uphold professionalism, transparency and integrity throughout the election process.
“If police receive any reports related to the allegation, further investigations will be carried out.
“If the reports received involve alleged misconduct by police personnel as claimed, we will also refer the matter to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC),” he said.
Alzafny said similar allegations had emerged during previous elections, adding that the latest claim remained an allegation that had not been substantiated.
Meanwhile, he said police received 53 election-related reports throughout the campaigning period from July 16 to July 27.
Of these, 16 investigation papers have been opened as authorities continue monitoring election-related matters during the Negeri Sembilan state polls. - July 28, 2026
