BARISAN Nasional (BN) is leading in 18 seats in the Negeri Sembilan state election, according to unofficial results cited by Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
Asyraf said Perikatan Nasional (PN) was ahead in three seats, while Pakatan Harapan (PH) was leading in eight seats.
The unofficial tally puts BN and PN ahead in a combined 21 seats, crossing the 19-seat threshold needed for a simple majority in the 36-seat state assembly.
BN is contesting 25 seats in the election, while PN is fielding candidates in 11 seats. The arrangement avoided three-cornered contests between the two coalitions.
PH, which currently governs the state, is contesting all 36 seats. - August 1, 2026
