TWO suspects tried to escape from the Kulim Magistrate's Court after the case mention was completed, before being re-arrested at around 10 am today.
Kulim District Police Chief, Superintendent Syamsul Sinring, said investigations found that the two had appeared in court for the case involving charges under Section 324 and Section 353 of the Penal Code.
"Both of them were previously charged at the Kulim Magistrate's Court on April 30 and were granted bail pending the trial process.
"The incident occurred during the re-arrest process by police from the Seberang Perai Selatan (SPS) District Police Headquarters (IPD) who were at the court," he said.
He said that after completing the case management and submission of documents, the duo left the court through the back door after noticing the presence of policemen at the front door.
However, both suspects were successfully re-arrested.
The incident was also recorded and went viral on social media, showing a state of panic in the Kulim Court area following the attempted escape. – August 12, 2026
