AN unidentified body was found in the tyre storage compartment of an aircraft at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) today.

The body was found at around 6.55 am in the tyre storage compartment of the aircraft from Tokyo, Japan, which landed at around 6.30 am.

According to reports in BuletinTV3, it is understood that the body, which was in jeans and a white shirt, was found by engineering staff who were assigned to open the plane's tyre storage compartment.

Based on information received, the staff detected an odour from the tyre storage compartment, opened the compartment and found the body before informing the KLIA2 Police Station Operations Room.

The Forensic Unit, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), was then called to the location to conduct further investigations.

Initial investigations found that the victim was estimated to be in his 20s and believed to have been dead for more than 72 hours.

However, no identification documents were found on the body.

Further investigations are underway to determine the victim's identity and cause of death. – August 27, 2026
