A PERODUA Axia car was damaged after a tyre believed to be from a lorry flew off and hit the vehicle in an incident under the MRR2 flyover near Kepong Indah, on Wednesday.

Based on a dashcam recording that went viral on social media, the tyre is believed to have come off a lorry believed to be passing the Selayang-Kepong Highway, and 'flies' and hits the car, which stopped at a traffic light.

As a result of the incident, the front of the Axia was badly damaged, and the windshield was shattered.

The video received various reactions questioning the maintenance aspects of the lorry and the effectiveness of periodic inspections of heavy vehicles. – August 1, 2026
