NEGERI Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim has refused to comment on an alleged document bearing his signature that the Undang Yang Empat say confirms a proclamation to remove Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

“I have no comment,” he said briefly when met after chairing the state executive council’s weekly meeting at a resort here early today.

The meeting, which began at 8pm yesterday, was attended by members of the Negeri Sembilan state executive council.

The claim emerged after the Undang Yang Empat produced what they said was a letter signed by Ismail confirming the alleged proclamation to remove Tuanku Muhriz.

The document was reportedly revealed during the Undang Yang Empat’s meeting with Tuanku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Jaafar at Istana Laguna Biru in Port Dickson on Aug 3.

The disclosure was made at a press conference yesterday attended by Undang Luak Jelebu Datuk Maarof Mat Rashad, Undang Luak Johol Datuk Muhammed Abdullah and Undang Luak Rembau Abdul Rahim Yasin.

The contents and authenticity of the document have not been independently verified, while Ismail has not confirmed whether he signed it. - September 9, 2026
