THE Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidential Council today threw its support behind Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the advice given by the Attorney-General and Federal Territories Minister to the Pardons Board, stressing that no one is above the law.
In a statement following its meeting chaired by Anwar, the council said anyone convicted of an offence must serve their sentence in accordance with the law and the Federal Constitution.
“The Presidential Council also stressed that no one is above the law. And anyone who is convicted of an offence must serve their sentence according to the law as enshrined in the Federal Constitution,” it said.
The council also reaffirmed its commitment to combating corruption, advancing the Reformasi agenda and cleansing the country of corruption and abuse.
“The Presidential Council is determined to continue efforts to combat corruption, uphold the Reformasi agenda and cleanse the country of elements of corruption and abuse,” it said.
The meeting at Perdana Putra began at about 5.30pm and lasted more than an hour, with several vehicles carrying PH leaders seen leaving the venue from about 7pm.
Anwar, who is also PH chairman, left at about 7.30pm.
The meeting was attended by Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. - September 18, 2026
