TWENTY-ONE air quality monitoring stations across five states, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 8am today, with Serian in Sarawak recording the highest reading at 182.
Based on data from the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), the Serian district police headquarters station recorded the highest reading, followed by Samarahan at 168, Kuching at 167 and Sri Aman at 164.
Other stations in Sarawak recording unhealthy readings were Bintulu and Sibu, both at 153, and Sarikei at 123.
Johor recorded unhealthy readings at six stations, led by Larkin at 162, followed by Pasir Gudang at 155, Batu Pahat at 154, Segamat at 153, Tangkak at 152 and Kota Tinggi at 110.
In Negeri Sembilan, Nilai recorded 154 while Seremban recorded 121.
Selangor recorded 153 in Shah Alam and 127 in Johan Setia.
Putrajaya recorded 154, while Cheras in Kuala Lumpur recorded 133.
In Melaka, Bukit Rambai recorded 110 and Bandaraya Melaka 107.
An API reading of 101 to 200 is classified as unhealthy, while 51 to 100 is moderate and 201 to 300 is very unhealthy.
