Budget 2027: FlySiswa subsidy raised to RM500 to ease burden on public university students
The FlySiswa Madani flight ticket assistance for 2027 is being increased to RM500 - October 9, 2026

FLIGHT ticket assistance for public university students is being further enhanced, with the government deciding to raise the FlySiswa Madani subsidy rate from RM400 to RM500 per person, effective 2027.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that the initiative is being upgraded to ensure the welfare and mobility needs of students at public institutions of higher learning (IPTA)—particularly those requiring air travel between the Peninsula, Sabah, and Sarawak continue to be supported.

"The FlySiswa Madani flight ticket assistance for 2027 is being increased to RM500, up from RM400, benefiting over 60,000 IPTA students," he said while tabling the 2027 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat today.

This increase in the subsidy rate is expected to provide significant financial relief to students and their families in covering the cost of travelling to their hometowns during semester breaks. – October 9, 2026
