KUALA LUMPUR – A local man with 20 previous criminal convictions was arrested yesterday at Dataran C180 in Cheras here on suspicion of being involved in a car break-in incident.

Kajang police chief Mohd Zaid Hassan said the man, who is in his 40s, was arrested at 12.30am after a 25-year-old man lodged a report that his car was broken into last Saturday.

“A public tip off led to the suspect’s arrest and upon checking, it was found that he has a criminal record, includes cases of burglary and theft in several areas,” he said in a statement issued today.

Zaid said police are conducting further investigations into the suspect’s involvement in the car break-in incident under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.

Those with information on the case can approach the nearest police station or call investigating officer Affiq Shahmey at 013-249-0964. – Bernama, January 11, 2021
