KUALA LUMPUR – The palace says the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah's health condition was not worrying following treatment for food poisoning and sports-related injuries.
In a statement, Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the Agong was also advised to undergo follow-up treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN).
The food poisoning treatment began when the King was admitted to IJN on the night of September 21. Interventional treatment was followed up with MRI imaging on September 22, which showed sports injuries suffered by Al-Sultan Abdullah.
"His Majesty is very active and plays several sports, including equestrian polo, football, squash, hockey and golf," said Ahmad Fadil.
The interventional treatment of Al-Sultan Abdullah's knee and ankle joints took place successfully on September 24.
"His Majesty is now in stable condition," said Ahmad Fadil.
As a result of this treatment, His Majesty has been advised to undergo follow-up treatment with close supervision of the IJN Physician team.
"He is scheduled to return to live at the Istana Negara in the near future after completing this follow-up treatment," the statement said.
“Al-Sultan Abdullah has been deeply touched by the people's concern for his welfare and expresses appreciation and thanks to all the people who have prayed for his well-being.”
"His Majesty also advised the people to take care of their health and always be vigilant, and abide by the rulings by the Government and new routine procedures, following the current situation of Covid-19 virus infection," said Ahmad Fadil. – The Vibes, September 28, 2020
