KUALA LUMPUR – Yesterday’s clash between two gangs believed to be in a drug turf war in Cheras ended in the arrests of 10 people this morning through Ops Cantas.

In a statement today, Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said police are looking for more suspects after videos and pictures were widely shared on social media.

The CID added that the Kajang district police headquarters received an emergency call at 6.37pm yesterday about the clash between two groups of men armed with machetes at Taman Juara Jaya, Batu 9 Cheras.

The video recordings showed that one group had injured several members of the other group during the clash. Cars believed to be owned by the suspects were also damaged during the incident.

“The motive of the incident is believed to be over the control of a drug turf. The clash is believed to be between Gang 08 Sg Besi Indah, Serdang, led by a man nicknamed Sara 08 Sg Besi Indah and his right-hand man known as Rajie 5000, against the opposing gang known as Gang 36 Bukit Belimbing, Kajang, led by a man called Tan.”

The police have since identified several individuals to facilitate investigations.

The CID urged those with information to contact their nearest police station or investigating officer Mohd Radzee Jamudi at 019-665-5811. – The Vibes, February 1, 2021
