KUALA LUMPUR – A band of gangster brothers are in Malaysia waiting to meet their brother Aziz Ahmed, a Bangladeshi general.

The Ahmed brothers – Haris, Josef, Anis, and Tipu, are gangsters with a history of murder in Bangladesh, reported Al Jazeera.

The brothers are allegedly close to Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It was reported that they provided the necessary muscle to keep Hasina safe while she was rising to power.

In 1996, Anis, Haris, and Josef tried to kill Mustafizur Rahman Mustafa, but the victim survived long enough to testify against the brothers in court.

Josef was sentenced to death. Anis and Haris were given life sentences but they managed to flee.

Meanwhile, brother Aziz chose to enlist in the army. He rose up the ranks and was promoted to general when Hasina became prime minister.

Josef’s death sentence was reduced to life imprisonment, and he was subsequently released following a presidential pardon.

According to Al Jazeera, Haris changed his name to Mohammad Hasan and did business in Hungary.

Al Jazeera also reported that there is an Interpol red notice against Haris, but checks by The Vibes today did not yield any results.

However, Haris is still on the Bangladeshi police’s most-wanted list, and a 2018 article from the Dhaka Tribune reported that Haris had an Interpol red notice.

Al Jazeera journalists followed Aziz on a plane to Kuala Lumpur, and reported that Haris and Josef were waiting for their brother at the airport.

The reporters followed a convoy of cars to a house, where other diplomatic cars were parked, and out came Josef, Anis, and Aziz.

Land searches conducted by Al Jazeera also revealed that Mohammad Hasan (aka Haris) and Anis purchased the property in Kuala Lumpur. – The Vibes, February 6, 2021
