MIRI – Bukit Assek assemblyman Irene Chang will be offering free disinfection for residential and commercial premises in Sibu, seeing that the district is badly hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chang is the first politician in Sarawak to offer such services for free, and her Bukit Assek help centre is coordinating the project.

“My help centre is offering free disinfection for all houses and premises to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

“The operations will be carried out by a professional company and paid for by us.

“Residents who need their houses and premises disinfected can contact us, and we will arrange for a time and date. The project will start on Monday and continue for two months.

“Top priority will be given to localities with high coronavirus infections, such as the Tiong Hua area, which saw more than 100 Covid-19 cases this week.”

Chang said the disinfection rounds will be done inside the premises, not just the outdoor compound.

Interested parties may call the rep at 019-819-6383.

Out of the 67 Covid-19 fatalities in Sarawak so far, Sibu recorded 39. The district also recorded 3,750 new cases as of yesterday. – The Vibes, February 19, 2021
