MIRI – Sarawak’s Covid-19 death toll is inching closer to 80, with two more fatalities recorded in Sibu today.

“The death toll is now at 78 with two deaths logged in Sibu Hospital today, involving a 74-year-old woman and a 90-year-old man,” said the state Disaster Management Committee secretariat.

Meanwhile, the state detected 219 new Covid-19 cases, with 26 active clusters statewide.

“A new cluster called Jalan Ho Ping in Samarahan has been detected with 14 cases,” it said.

Sibu district logged 80 new cases, followed by Kapit (26), Bintulu (25), Kuching (18), Miri (12), Samarahan (11) and other districts recording fewer than 10 cases.

Sibu Hospital is treating 1,087 Covid-19 patients today with Miri Hospital having 203, followed by Kapit Hospital (176), Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching (346), Bintulu Hospital (265), Sarikei Hospital (173) and Sri Aman Hospital (25). – The Vibes, February 25, 2021
