KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah are among a number of senior government officials ordered to undergo home quarantine.
They were present at a special National Security Council (NSC) meeting on Covid-19 that was also attended by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, who today confirmed that he tested positive for the coronavirus.
In a statement, Muhyiddin said he and all those who were at the meeting began their 14-day quarantine starting October 3, after a Health Ministry order following a risk assessment.
Dr Noor Hisham confirmed to The Vibes that he was at the meeting and is currently undergoing quarantine.

Muhyiddin said he has undergone swab tests every two weeks since April, and was screened on September 22, 26 and 29, testing negative each time.
The Health Ministry screened all those who attended the special NSC meeting, he said.
Giving an assurance that the quarantine order will not impact government affairs, Muhyiddin said he will “continue working from home” and use “video conferences” for meetings.
Earlier today, Zulkifli took to Twitter to announce his Covid-19 diagnosis and urged those who attended events with him from September 24 to be screened for the coronavirus immediately.
Other top government officials present at the meeting are Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Education Minister Radzi Jidin, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador and Defence Force chief General Tan Sri Affendi Buang. – The Vibes, October 5, 2020
