KUALA LUMPUR – The enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in Kg Tringgus, Bau in Kuching, Sarawak, will end as scheduled tomorrow.
In his daily Covid-19 press statement, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Health Ministry has conducted 55 screenings in the cluster and recorded four positive cases.
“The Health Ministry has confirmed that there is a reduction in cases and the cluster is under control, with no more pending (test) samples.
“After conducting the risk assessment with multiple agencies in the MCO (movement control order) technical committee, the government has agreed to end the EMCO in Kg Tringgus, Bau, Bahagian Kuching, Sarawak, on March 21, 2021, as scheduled,” said Ismail.
In a related news, authorities arrested six individuals for breaching the MCO standard operating procedures yesterday.
Four were guilty of not wearing face masks while another two failed to prepare record-keeping equipment for their customers.
At the same time, the nation’s border patrol, under Ops Benteng, has arrested 49 illegal immigrants and seized a land transport vehicle and a boat/vessel. – The Vibes, March 20, 2021
