KUALA LUMPUR – A video of a group of motorists in cars and motorcycles blocking a busy intersection and burning flares while holding a “Kerajaan Gagal” banner is going viral.
According to reports on the video clips uploaded on social media, the incident happened in Parit Raja, Batu Pahat, Johor.
Based on an image that also went viral, the same banner can be seen hung from a pedestrian crossing.
In the video, cars are seen waiting to cross the road, which has been blocked by the flashmob-cum-protest.
Harian Metro reported that police have arrested a 21-year-old individual to assist in investigations.
Batu Pahat OCPD Ismail Dollah was quoted as saying that police received a call at 11am today from a member of the public who complained about the incident.
Police personnel who rushed to the scene found the banner already removed by members of the public.
Ismail also said police in Batu Pahat will be ramping up crime prevention measures in the district, particularly at Parit Raja.
Only two days ago, Sinar Harian reported that advertisement panels along Sg Melaka were vandalised with “Kerajaan Gagal” graffiti.
