KUALA LUMPUR – A special meeting of the Conference of Rulers has been scheduled at Istana Negara here on June 16 to deliberate on various proposals to combat Covid-19 amid the state of emergency.
Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin in a statement today said the meeting is being arranged based on the initiative of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who will chair it.
“The special meeting will be the second held at Istana Negara after Sultan Abdullah ascended the throne as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on January 31, 2019.
“The first meeting was organised and held on October 25 last year at the same venue.”
On Monday, The Vibes reported that the king has invited all political party leaders to discuss the end of the emergency and reopening of Parliament in August.
Since this morning, political leaders from both sides of the divide, including Prime Minister and Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and PKR president and opposition chief Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, have had audiences with the Agong.
