KUALA LUMPUR – Members of PKR’s youth wing in several states have lodged police reports against Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for allegedly committing “political bribery” by offering Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah a post in a government-linked company in exchange for the latter’s support.
Melaka PKR youth chief Prasanth Kumar Brakasam said he lodged a report at the Ayer Keroh police station before having his statement recorded at the Jasin district police headquarters today.
He said similar reports have been filed by PKR youth members in Johor and Negri Sembilan.
Prasanth, in a statement, said Muhyiddin attempted to secure the Gua Musang MP’s backing by offering him the post of adviser to state oil giant Petronas.
“This matter is very serious. Malaysia’s constitutional and democratic system may be threatened by political bribes or offers of positions made by the prime minister to remain in power.”
This comes after Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh sent a letter to the Dewan Rakyat speaker seeking clarification on why a motion of no confidence against Muhyiddin has yet to be tabled. – The Vibes, October 17, 2020
