RANAU – A foreigner was killed in a rockslide that destroyed his house in Kg Pinousuk, Kundasang near here yesterday.

In the 3pm incident, Junaidi Gangka, 55, was in the kitchen with his wife.

His wife and their two children were able to escape.

District police chief Simiun Lomoudin today said farmers nearby pulled Junaidi out of the rubble, but he died upon arrival at Ranau Hospital.

“His wife and two children, aged 18 and 6, survived the tragedy. The case has been classified as sudden death.”

After visiting the scene, he warned residents of a potential recurrence, and urged them to take precautions. – The Vibes, June 21, 2021
