KOTA BELUD – A mother from a village here got the shock of her life after finding out her 13-year-old daughter delivered a baby girl at home yesterday.
She was awakened around 3am and was aghast to see her daughter cleaning up the baby.
She immediately took her daughter and baby to the hospital for treatment and medical check up.
District police chief Sahimi Husin said the girl was believed to have been raped by her 14-year-old cousin thrice since August last year.
“The 14-year-old suspect was arrested and sent to the Kota Belud police station yesterday evening to facilitate investigation.
“The outcome of the investigation will be handed over to the deputy prosecutor for further action,” he told The Vibes when contacted.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape. – The Vibes, June 22, 2021
