MIRI – Sarawak registered 409 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths and five clusters today.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said the two fresh fatalities bring the death toll to 408 in the state.

The victims were two women aged 76 and 83 in Kapit Hospital and Sarikei Hospital.

Of the new clusters – mostly in rural areas – the Long Luteng cluster in Telang Usan, so far, logged 44 cases and one death.

The Po Ai cluster in Sri Aman, involving four longhouses, logged 103 infections, while the Simpang Koko cluster in Sarikei has 59. Both clusters stemmed from social gatherings.

The Blimbing cluster in Bau logged 22 cases among villagers, while the Jalan Semariang cluster has 36.
