KUALA LUMPUR – Residents in areas and districts under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) are allowed to travel three in a car, including the driver, for Covid-19 vaccination purposes, said Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The senior minister said in a press conference today that those who are travelling will only need to show their appointment dates on their MySejahtera app.

“Although for EMCO areas, we only allow one person in one car, we have relaxed it for those who are sending their parents for vaccinations.

“We allow three people to travel in one car, including the driver. That is one driver plus two passengers.

“If you do not have your own vehicles, you will have to go via e-hailing services. We allow two passengers in e-hailing cars, so including the driver, it would be three people.”

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri reiterated that those who need to bring their parents or family members in their hometowns to vaccination appointments are permitted to travel between states.

‘We allow that. However, I was told that in rural areas and villages, there are volunteers who would help bring elderly and the disabled to get vaccinated.

“Maybe they can arrange this with volunteers. If not, we allow them to return to their hometowns.

“As long as they have evidence, they can show it to the police at roadblocks,” he said in a joint press conference with Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz today. – The Vibes, July 3, 2021
