MIRI – Sarawak remains in Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP), said the Public Communication Unit (Ukas) after several state ministers went on record saying otherwise.
“Programmes under the Phase 1 of the NRP in Sarawak started on July 5," said Ukas.
The state Disaster Management Committee had said the progression into the Phases 2, 3 and 4 of the NRP depends on the number of daily Covid-19 infections, the state of intensive care units at all hospitals in Sarawak and percentage of Sarawakians fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Sarawak is still seeing triple-digit daily Covid-19 cases.
ICUs in all hospitals are also still full, while 49.1% of Sarawakians above 18 years old have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“Dining in will be allowed only in Phase 2 while interstate travel will be allowed in Phase 4,” said Ukas.
The Sarawak cabinet had on July 9 said it will extend the full MCO indefinitely until the state is able to move into Phase 4 of the NRP. – The Vibes, July 12, 2021
