KUALA LUMPUR – Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has denied allegations that he was responsible for sending a helicopter from here to Ipoh to pick up an order of the iconic nasi ganja.
In a tweet last night, Tengku Zafrul responded to a viral WhatsApp message stating that he had ordered the delivery, saying he found the incident ‘funny’.
Lucu bila terima WhatsApp message kononnya saya order nasi vanggey guna helicopter. Pakai gambar lama dan crop tarikh.

He tweeted: “It’s funny when I receive a WhatsApp message saying that I ordered nasi vanggey using a helicopter. With old photos and the dates cropped.
“Eating nasi vanggey is the best, but instead of ordering with a helicopter, it’s better to use services like Nasi Kandaq Transporter, you can also help small entrepreneurs.”
However, many Twitter users did not share the finance minister’s sense of humour.
Netizens questioned Tengku Zafrul’s speed in response to nasi ganja, in contrast to his silence over promises that he had made regarding laptops for students.

However, one user did acknowledge Tengku Zafrul’s nudge for small entrepreneurs, but also questioned the same issues.

“Wow it’s good to help small entrepreneurs, but wait! People ask about laptops and moratoriums and it takes so long to answer? It’s the 3rd MCO now. Students have been learning from home for too long. This is actually funny. Please respond quickly and also to other matters,” said Twitter user @farahzabidi.

Yesterday, a helicopter landed at Padang Ipoh to pick up 36 packets of nasi ganja booked by a customer from Kuala Lumpur.
